The Representative Payee (payee) manages benefit payments for clients who require assistance in managing their Social Security or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments.


  • Assist Participant in setting agency up as payee per their choice
  • Assist Participant in setting up bank account
  • Pay all bills for participant in a timely manner
  • Ensure that participant does not exceed the account limits, both maximum and minimum
  • Ensure each participant's account does not exceeded the $2000 limit
  • Maintains accurate records of all deposits and expenses
  • Completes Social Security reports as requested
  • Completes yearly report and provides to guardian and state as needed
  • Ensure that each participant has enough money for health and safety items
  • Prepares budget for each participant based on income and expenses
  • Provide participant with spending money per budget allowance
  • Fills out food stamp applications annually and ensures it does not lapse.
  • Communicates changes required to Social Security
  • High school graduate
  • Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written communications
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and interdependently
  • Positive communication skills, in person and on the phone
  • Attention to detail in producing accurate work
  • Financial or accounting experience preferred
