JOB TITLE: Occupational Therapist
JOB CLASSIFICATION: Full time or Part time
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
JOB PURPOSE: Evaluate consumers and provide occupational therapies for consumers; supervise therapy assistants, students and volunteers as needed. Write evaluation reports and individualize treatment plans for people served and measure progress on goals. Design, implement and train program staff to implement task for treatment, design treatment activities as a team, lead groups and activities, measure progress and evaluate the program's effectiveness, consumer satisfaction and quality features. Oversee completion of required documentation. Work with physicians on treatment plan and patient needs. Lead projects and handle staff assignments for services provided by the team, such as adaptive equipment services.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct occupational therapy evaluations.
- Write evaluation reports, treatment plans and other required documentation for occupational therapy services.
- Manage Adaptive Equipment Program services/process and perform Independent Living Assessments.
- Design treatment tasks; implements with consumers and trains other staff to assist.
- Oversee completion of required documentation for occupational therapy services by students.
- Lead groups as needed.
- Assist with program development.
- Participate in team/family conferences.
- Participate in discharge planning.
- Provide consumer/family education when needed.
- Recommend assistive technology or adaptive equipment as needed.
- Participate in fundraising activities.
- Complete continuing education credits as required to maintain licensure.
- Maintain clean and orderly environment.
- Familiarize self with and follows facility and department Policies and Procedures.
- Follow all personnel policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Graduate of an accredited school of occupational therapy. Missouri license for occupational therapy. MANDT crisis intervention certification, CPR certification and first aid training required (these trainings will be provided upon hire along with required agency trainings). Experience in brain injury rehabilitation preferred.
