Medical Administrative Assistant - part time
TITLE: Medical Administrative Assistant
JOB CLASSIFICATION: Part time - 16 hours a week, non-exempt (future full time hours potentially available)
REPORTS TO: Professional Services Coordinator
JOB PURPOSE: Manage administrative portion of adaptive equipment grant. Manage communication with vendors and case managers. Provide support to the medical department and therapy team; assist in the coordination and delivery of medical services.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage administrative portion of adaptive equipment grant.
- Initiate client intake procedures and portable profile information in software program.
- Provide consumer and/or family education or services as needed.
- Assist with scheduling assessments and therapy services.
- Coordinates with vendors and families to set up installation of equipment
- Manage communication with vendors for adaptive equipment.
- Complete documentation and billing as required.
- Maintain communication with case managers regarding consumer needs and updates.
- Follow all personnel policies and procedures.
- Maintain clean and orderly environment.
- Familiarize self with and follow facility and department policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma required. Must have prior experience in administrative positions and tasks. MANDT crisis intervention, CPR certification, and first aid training required (these trainings can be provided upon hire along with required agency trainings). Must be proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience in brain injury rehabilitation or working with individuals with disabilities preferred. Must be able to read and interpret basic medical language and transcribe information for medical record integrity.
