Job Coach (Employment Specialist)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Offer job-coaching services and support to individuals with disabilities at their place of employment.
- Advocate for individuals and make necessary accommodation when needed.
- Support clients in developing and enhancing effective social skills for workplace success.
- Design and implement behavior-management training strategies to support client success.
- Collaborate with staff and employment personnel to develop and implement Individual Support Plans for clients.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with the employment support team to support client success.
- Manage a caseload of clients.
- Connect clients with appropriate community resources to support their employment and personal development needs.
- Demonstrate basic computer skills and proficiency with relevant software applications.
- Exhibit the ability to demonstrate professional writing skills.
- Accurately complete all required paperwork and documentation to ensure compliance and record-keeping standards are met.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with employers and state providers to support client employment outcomes.
- Demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills to efficiently prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by the supervisor to support organizational needs and client success.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma or GED. Some college preferred
Preferred experience: Work experience with individuals with disabilities or background in social service.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to be very flexible. Excellent professional writing skills and good computer skills are preferred. CPR & First Aid training.
Work Hours: Must have a reliable vehicle, license, and valid insurance and have the availability to work flexible schedule.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Using fine and gross motor skills. Ability to push or pull up to 25 pounds. Lift and carry up to 30 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop and reach.
