Destination Desserts, the gourmet dessert bakery and food truck, is looking for a customer-focused, forward-thinking person to help operate our food truck.

JOB TITLE: Food Truck Operator
JOB CLASSIFICATION: Full Time; Non-Exempt
JOB PURPOSE: Manage the complete operation of a dessert food truck and provide support services to people with disabilities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the day's receipts and drawer reconciliation.
  • Drive and operate a 14-foot commercial box truck (training provided).
  • Maintain food truck to exceed health department standards.
  • Project an outgoing, friendly personality and promote dessert truck operation.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Assist with bakery kitchen tasks as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Requires prolonged sitting and standing.
  • Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
  • Requires stooping, bending and reaching.
  • Must work in and around fumes and odors and work with dishwashing liquids and powders, solvents and other cleaning chemicals.
  • Must work in environments of above average heat or cold.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent required, some college or undergraduate degree preferred. Knowledge of food preparation required, bakery/restaurant experience preferred. Direct customer service experience required, previous management/supervisory experience preferred. Experience in commercial vehicle driving preferred. Must have valid safe food handling certification or have the ability to acquire certification. Must have a valid commercial driver's license or have the ability to obtain commercial driver's license.

MISCELLANEOUS:
Must have effective communication skills, problem solving skills and the ability to manage stressful situations to a successful outcome. CPR certification and first aid training required (these trainings will be provided upon hire along with required agency trainings).
