THE POSITION

The Family Services Lead (FSL) is responsible for supporting the youth and families who access services through the RISE Family Services Department. The FSL is also responsible for partnering as a leader in supporting Family Services team members who provide services through the Post Permanency Program, Independent Living Program and Treatment Foster Care (TFC). The FSL will act as a resource to families and team members in providing relevant, community-specific referrals and resources to assist families in meeting needs associated with maintaining a safe, sustainable and nurturing home for the children in their care. Duties will include providing referrals and resources for a variety of supports, including but not limited to, mental health resources, support with subsidy reviews, developmental services (Intervention Services, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy), support groups, etc. The FSL additionally serves as a partner in identifying and addressing quality assurance concerns and needs, to include: ensuring cases are opened and reviewed regularly in the electronic case file and ensuring prompt response to new intakes.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Direct Service and Leadership 

  • Act as a point of contact and build influential internal and external relationships.
  • Promote RISE, through adherence to the RISE mission, vision and values.
  • Demonstrate leadership and humility through appearance, preparation, language and respect for others. 
  • Participate in meetings and other activities internal to RISE as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with management and administrative staff as needed.
  • Provide relevant, community-specific referrals and resources to families for a variety of supports. 
  • Identifying and addressing quality assurance concerns and needs, to include: ensuring cases are opened and reviewed regularly in the electronic case file and ensuring prompt response to new intakes. 

Post Permanency

  • Providing services and service coordination to children and families statewide to ensure they have the support and resources necessary to be successful.
  • Reviewing subsidy requests and making recommendations to the Idaho Department of Health of Welfare for modifications.
  • Serving as a resource to other team members by reviewing the subsidy and grant applications of other case managers.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of adoption and permanency related issues, trauma-informed care and cultural competency.
  • Utilizing both experience and relevant frameworks in the delivery of high-quality, professional services and supports to families statewide.
  • Delivering services in person, over the phone, through email and through video conferencing with a child and members of the family. 
  • Providing appropriate consultation and expertise to other team members. The FSL will coordinate and collaborate with other team members, to include the Executive Director, in making initial and ongoing contact with families to assess for and decrease the occurrence of disruptions post-adoption. 

    Independent Living

  • Serving as a resource to team members by providing consultation and support in service delivery.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of adoption and permanency related issues, trauma-informed care and cultural competency.
  • Utilizing both experience and relevant frameworks in the delivery of high-quality, professional services and supports to youth in Regions 3 and 4. 

    Treatment Foster Care

  • Assist with recruitment, training and licensure of TFC families, 
  • Provide support and assistance as needed to TFC Program staff, to include: 
    • Recruitment, training and licensure of TFC families, 
    • Support of TFC Families through resourcing, staffing and innovative solution seeking. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, in human/social services or related field with at least two years of experience working in service delivery.   
  • Experience using computer software including Word, Windows, Excel, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive company information including but not limited to pay, benefits, compensation and financial information. 
  • Ability to greet the public by telephone and in person in a professional manner.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary for effective communication and interaction with referral sources, clients, prospective foster parents, foster families, outside agency personnel and other care providers when gathering and exchanging information.  This level of interpersonal skills requires a great deal of tact and diplomacy.  Being able to openly discuss sensitive subjects with prospective foster parents and current foster parents in order to effectively address, assess and intervene as necessary to maintain the viability of the home for placements
  • Ability to write all necessary materials and communications relevant to the position and interpret policies, procedures, and other required information.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, demonstrate attention to detail, exhibit patience and perseverance in completing tasks, demonstrate ability to handle multiple tasks and timely follow-through skills.
  • Self-directed, works with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of state, licensing and contract expectations. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • LSW, LMSW, LPC
  • Experience in leadership
