The Vocational Training and Transition program is looking for a Seasonal Employment Advisor for our summer work programs. Work with the Rise team to provide on-site support to young adults with disabilities as they learn skills for employment and daily life.

JOB TITLE: Employment Advisor - Summer Work Experience JOB CLASSIFICATION: Seasonal, Variable hours; Non-Exempt JOB PURPOSE: Provide on-site support for summer program clients to increase job readiness and social skills.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide summer program clients with worksite orientation, supervision, and instruction
  2. Provide guidance and training on appropriate worksite social skills and expectations.
  3. Develop and implement positive behavioral supports to increase client success.
  4. Assist with job accommodations and incorporate strategies as needed (i.e. task analysis, pictorial tools, or practice).
  5. Communicate daily with jobsite leadership to coordinate training and increase job opportunities.
  6. Maintain communication with client's parents or guardians regarding program participation.
  7. Complete all daily and weekly required paperwork and documentation.
  8. Maintain regular worksite attendance for the duration of the seasonal program
  9. Attend all required seasonal employment advisor training.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED required. Work experience with individuals with disabilities or social service background preferred, but not required. Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills, strong organization skills, and the ability to be very flexible. Good writing and basic computer skills preferred. Must be certified in CPR and first aid (will be provided upon hire along with required agency training).

MISCELLANEOUS: This position is community based, so a reliable vehicle and valid auto insurance is required. Must have the availability to work days or evenings.
