JOB TITLE: Director of Employment Services

JOB CLASSIFICATION: Full time, 40 hours/week; Exempt

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

JOB PURPOSE: The primary responsibility is to provide management and strategic alignment of employment services through the continuum; pre-employment training, career development and supported employment services. The secondary responsibility is developing relationships in the community, engaging area businesses and utilizing a variety of sales/marketing techniques to influence business decision makers to utilize an identified pool of selected job candidates for workforce development, career exploration and competitive employment. Included in this role is the ongoing development of the Employment staff and the ability to meet the needs of the population for independent hard and soft skill achievement. In addition, this position will facilitate training in area businesses on the value of an inclusive work environment and benefits of having a diverse employment pool

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist in the recruitment, hiring and training of employment advisors, job coaches, vocational evaluators, site coordinators, job recruiters and job developers.
  2. Assist in the assignments of new referrals to the appropriate division of employment services.
  3. Conducting and leading employment meetings cultivating a professional team environment.
  4. Monitor and track daily operations to ensure quality and efficiency is being achieved.
  5. Provide oversight for documentation compliance and funder expectations. Attend funder meetings routinely.
  6. 5. Conduct regular consumer file checks to ensure program integrity and accuracy.
  7. Monitor placements to ensure good job match and appropriate accommodations have been established.
  8. 7. Assist in the tracking of financial milestones and budget expectations.
  9. Provide training and assistance with consumer case management issues.
  10. Generate/provide opportunities for community outreach regarding upcoming industry networking events, job fairs and other employment opportunities; attend Chamber of Commerce meetings.
  11. Assist with intakes, interviews and consumer staffing as needed.
  12. Assist in the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training and supervising of all employment team members.
  13. Assist in coordinating consumer staffing, intakes, site assessments and on-going services with referral sources (DVR, DOH, DMH, etc.).
  14. Develop person centered employment services, inclusive of Individual Support Plans for consumers and assure their implementation is in conjunction with appropriate staff.
  15. Ensure accurate documentation and billing; manage departmental budgets and staffing models, lead program growth and strategic initiatives.
  16. Assure compliance and maintain standards as outlined by CARF and appropriate federal, state and local regulations. Tracking outcomes and program performance,
  17. Oversee training on site, i.e., social interactions, job responsibilities, orientation.
  18. Develop community relationships to promote community employment and inclusion of consumers' service.
  19. Advocate for typical relations with employers and co-workers.
  20. Assist with negotiating work-related issues such as schedules, job modifications, transportation, benefits, etc. with employers and other persons who have significant roles in the workers/consumers' lives.
  21. Utilize stress and behavior management techniques to ensure community workers learn, cope and exhibit appropriate work behaviors.
  22. Provide education regarding head injury, autism and other disabilities when appropriate.
  23. Conduct job analysis at assessment and employment sites as needed.
  24. Acts as a representative of the RISE employment division and serve as a liaison with community site personnel and referring agencies.
  25. Follow all personnel policies and procedures.
  26. Maintain clean and orderly environment.
  27. Familiarize self with and follow facility and department policies and procedures.
  28. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in social work, rehabilitation counseling, psychology, business, or related field; Leadership experience in disability services or workforce development, Knowledge of Vocational Rehabilitation and Medicaid-funded employment programs, Experience supervising staff and managing compliance, Strong communication and community partnership skills.

Preferred Experience: Supervisory and vocational rehabilitation experience preferred. Prefer work experience with head injury/autism/development disability population or social service background.

MISCELLANEOUS: Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills, strong organization skills and the ability to be very flexible. Excellent writing and computer skills, specifically in MS Word and Excel are a must. CPR and first aid training required. (these trainings will be provided upon hire along with required agency trainings) Must have a reliable vehicle and have the availability to work days, occasional evenings, weekends and holidays to ensure that clients works shifts are supported as defined in their ISP.
