Description

RISE, Inc., a 30+ year old growth oriented non-profit multi-state organization with annual revenues of $100MM+ serving the developmentally disabled community, is seeking a Compensation Specialist to work in our Draper, UT, Mesa, AZ, Boise, ID or Salem, OR corporate office. The candidate will provide organized and detail-oriented analytical support for Human Resources as well as multiple entities.  Starting salary is $50,000 a year. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Understand competitors in each market area by position. Makes recommendation on new competitors and competitors that have left the market.
  • Interviews and surveys employees and managers to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.
  • Benchmarks jobs monthly against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.
  • Prepares and maintains competitor dashboards.
  • Prepares and presents summary reports of job analysis and compensation / benefits analysis information.
  • Gathers data from market-based compensation surveys; uses spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends.
  • Evaluates and implements job analysis instruments and materials.
  • Conducts data and cost analyses to be used in employee negotiations.
  • Researches employee benefits in similar industries; based on findings, recommends changes or updates to the company’s existing benefits or policies.
  • Advises management on applicable state and federal employment regulations, benefits and compensation policies, human resource procedures, and collective agreements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

  • Excellent customer relationship skills that effectively and respectfully interact with internal and external customers
  • Communicate effectively whether in individual, group settings or in written correspondence using professional, polite, respectful and accurate grammatical language
  • Be an active listener who can recount the information conveyed by writing an objective report of what was told
  • Read and interpret written information, including laws and regulations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Extensive knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
  • Extensive knowledge of human resource laws, regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources or related field required.
  • HR certification preferred (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a compensation analyst required.

EQUIPMENT NORMALLY USED:

  • Telephone and headset, computer, thin client, scanner, printer, multiple screens, fax, tools. Wiring and other equipment as needed.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • The employee must be able to sit for extended periods of time entering data and analyzing data in a system. The employee is regularly required to use their fingers, hands, arms and eyes to analyze and input data into system.
  • The employee is frequently required to speak to and appropriately respond to customers, both internal and external either on the phone or in-person including at meetings or in presentations.
  • The employee is frequently required to operate and maintain a variety of office, computer related, telecommunications and multimedia equipment. The employee is required to use their hands, fingers, arms, back and eyes as well as be able to bend, stoop, kneel, walk, twist and lift on a regular basis.
  • Vision ability is required to do the job including close vision, far vision and color vision as well as the ability to adjust focus.
  • The ability to work under stressful conditions that may require dealing with difficult people while handling multiple work assignments with specific deadlines
