OVERVIEW AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for impactful items including, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis. The Senior Financial Analyst is organized, proactive and a self-starter. This is an individual contributor role reporting directly to the Controller or VP of Finance. This role supports Acumen Fiscal Agent, the leading fiscal intermediary provider service to more than 50,000 employees in more than 20 states across the nation.

 

  • Owning the annual budget process
  • Prepare various ad-hoc reports and analysis for senior management
  • Prepare monthly reporting packages for senior and executive management.
  • Execute value-added analysis. Develop and provide recommendations to management on profit optimization.
  • Lead in budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Help drive key insights and analytics. Identify positive and negative operations trends and their effects on financial performance.
  • Answer the WHY things are happening.
  • Participation in RFP’s, special projects, ad hoc research and analysis as needed.
  • Support compliance and improve processes and internal controls in area of responsibility
  • Support annual financial audit
  • Other accounting projects as needed

 

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • 3-5 years experience in a similar role
  • Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Excel skills (eg VLOOKUP, pivot tables, INDEX MATCH)
  • Excellent client service skills and professional demeanor
  • High degree of organization and attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate to a wide range of audiences
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Working knowledge of an ERP system (NetSuite preferable), productivity software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and Google Workspace
