RISE Services is seeking a qualified and experienced Director of Therapeutic Foster Care. The director is responsible for the administration and management of RISE Professional Parenting programs. This individual would provide guidance and coaching to RISE Directors, assisting them in achieving competency in the performance of providing safe and supportive services in a manner consistent with the RISE Mission, Vision and Values. The director would oversee the fiscal management of the programs in the RISE divisions by also ensuring compliance with all RISE corporate and state policies and procedures and other legal and regulatory requirements.

We are seeking a creative and innovative individual who sees the emerging trends in foster care and child welfare. They must be ready, willing and able to adopt changes that benefit our clients and program. They will be an addition to the senior staff within RISE, and as a whole, make contributions across the agency in addition to their assigned responsibilities.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Will be responsible for management, clinical and fiscal direction of the program to ensure success and fiscal sustainability
  • Responsible for ongoing development, improvement, expansion, quality control and compliance of services offered through the program, including Intensive Treatment Foster Care services and foster family recruitment and development
  • Proactive outreach to officials and departments with whom the program contracts or may potentially contracts
  • Provide management and supervision to RISE employees in a manner that exceeds the expectation of RISE customers
  • Participate in Family Services Management Team as a part of the Core Leadership team working with other teams to support the Family Services team
  • Involvement in local advocacy movements, including family activities, advisory boards, governing councils, special education issues, etc
  • Creates new and innovative service models for the children, youth, and adults in our Therapeutic Foster Care homes
  • Creates an environment where employees feel comfortable taking risks and sharing new ideas. Build a strong team and instructs staff in team building skills
  • Promote and develop new areas of services resulting in increased revenues
  • Lobbies for change in a positive manner with funding agencies
  • Promotes and engages in positive relationships with customers
  • Develop systems to continuously improve the personnel system to support the RISE mission
  • Demonstrate competency in financial and budgetary issues as required, including staying within appropriate budgets, maintaining checking ledgers, and adherence to procedures for payroll, billings, and payables, and the ability to instruct staff in these areas
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have a master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, or other related field
  • Must hold a current LCSW or CHMC or psychologist license
  • Proven management and leadership skills, having supervised professional staff a minimum of 5 years
  • 1+ year(s) of working with people with disabilities
  • 3-5 years experience in foster care, adoption or child welfare services and a current and contemporary understanding of child development, family systems, child welfare systems and Juvenile Court services
  • Experience implementing systems to monitor program policy/ procedure and contractual compliance
  • Must communicate effectively in individual or group situations, including demonstrating listening, writing, and interpretive skills
  • Self directed and works with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel
